Report Animal Abuse & Cruelty

Pets depend on us to provide for their daily needs. From meals to cuddles and playtime, having an animal trust you for their daily needs can benefit our mood and improve mental health. Some animal-human bonds can even be life-saving. That is why reporting animal abuse and cruelty is critical. If someone was abusing your child you wouldn't hesitate to report them so please don't wait to report animal abuse. Today could be their last day before they are killed by their abuser.

Report Animal Cruelty

To report animal abuse, contact your local animal control agency, police department, humane society, or SPCA immediately. Provide a concise, factual report with details like the location, date, and time of the incident, along with descriptions of the animals and any suspected neglect or cruelty. Most agencies allow for anonymous reporting. We have provided contact information for each of the counties in Nevada to report such abuse and/or cruelty. If you notice something is incorrect please notify us right away so we can change it.

By Location in Nevada

The primary point of contact is the animal control agency for the specific city or county where the abuse occurred

When Reporting

  • For immediate danger: Call 911

  • Provide details: Include the exact location/address, a description of the animal(s) and person(s) involved, the nature of the abuse (e.g., lack of food, water, shelter, physical harm), and the date and time you observed the incident.

  • Documentation: If safe and lawful, take photos or videos of the conditions.

  • Anonymity: You can generally submit a complaint anonymously, though providing contact information can aid in the investigation.

  • Do not intervene: Do not confront the abuser yourself; this can be dangerous and should be handled by trained authorities.

Animal cruelty is a felony crime under Reba's Law in Nevada, and investigations can lead to prosecution.
